OrbAlert
A live map of natural hazards, built only from free, official public sources.
OrbAlert is launching soon. Nothing on this site is live hazard information yet. For warnings and evacuation orders now, follow your national weather service, local emergency management and local officials.
What it will show
- Earthquakes and volcano alerts from the US Geological Survey.
- Weather alerts from the US National Weather Service, and river flooding from NOAA's river gauges.
- Hurricanes and tropical storms from NOAA's National Hurricane Center: forecast cones, the chance of damaging winds, and when they could arrive.
- Tsunami messages from NOAA's tsunami warning centres.
- Wildfire perimeters from the US National Interagency Fire Center, and natural events worldwide from NASA's Earth Observatory.
- News reports about hazards, always marked as unverified.
How it works
Every item names the agency it comes from. OrbAlert never invents a severity, never calls a place "safe", and marks any feed that is not current. Saved places stay in your browser. Read how OrbAlert works.
